Q: How long have you been in the field of HR / People, and could you share your current role and professional background with us?

A: I’ve been navigating the people space for over 20 years, currently running my own Chief People Officer consulting, coaching, and advisory practice. My journey includes stints at Policygenius, Oscar Health, and McKinsey & Company, shaping my expertise in preparing companies for rapid change.

Q: Can you provide a brief summary of your career journey in just three phrases/sentences?

A: I stumbled into HR, now a compass for teams and orgs. Passionate about tackling all things sticky. Constantly learning to be a better leader and drive org development.

Q: Fun fact - Something most people wouldn’t know about you is _______?

A: Despite my stature of 5’0”, I used to compete as a powerlifter.

Q: What is a funny story or experience you’ve had as an HR leader (that you are allowed to share!)

A: Mediating a conflict between towering employees, where my stern voice had a surprising effect – much to the bewilderment of onlookers!

Q: What major changes/shifts do you anticipate in the HR & People space in 2024, and are there any emerging, innovative companies or vendors in the HR, wellbeing, or benefits sector that you find noteworthy?

A: Trends like honing performance management, AI integration, and reimagining engagement in hybrid work dominate my radar. Platforms like Brighthire and Kindred Minds on HR, Wellset on wellbeing, and Overalls on benefits catch my attention for their fresh approaches.

Q: Could you share an example of a highly effective mental health strategy or wellbeing program that has been implemented, and how have corporate attitudes toward employee mental health and wellbeing evolved in recent years?

A: Embracing neurodiversity in workplaces, creating inclusive programs supporting diverse conditions, is a standout strategy. Less stigma, more investment, yet a need for deeper understanding and long-term solutions.

Q: What’s your go-to self-care practice or routine?
